Staff Infrastructure Software Engineer (Defense Tech)

Location: Torrance, United States; in-office

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, base salary only; equity may be included.

What you will do

• Own the infrastructure architecture across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.
• Design and build reliable systems for real-time data collection and analysis across thousands of distributed nodes.
• Develop cloud data pipelines and infrastructure for autonomous platforms deployed in the field.
• Make technical decisions across hardware, software, autonomy, and business teams.
• Establish standards for building, testing, deploying, and monitoring systems.
• Mentor engineers and help define the technical direction of the infrastructure platform.

Requirements

• Expertise architecting, deploying, and operating high-volume, real-time data processing systems across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Production programming and debugging experience with Python, Go, C++, Rust, or related languages.
• Production experience with Linux, AWS, Azure or GCP, Docker or containerd, and Kubernetes.
• Experience writing infrastructure as code and building CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
• Strong cybersecurity and networking practices, database operations at scale, and integration with electronics or physical hardware.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, including as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or person eligible to obtain required export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT, defense technology, maritime systems, or autonomous systems.
• Experience with export control, ITAR, EAR, or similar compliance requirements.
• Early-stage startup experience and work with non-technical stakeholders.
