Senior or Staff Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote from anywhere in Taiwan. An in-person interview may be requested during the hiring process.

What you will do

• Own the parser framework, including reusable primitives, hot-path performance, reliability, and testability.
• Design parsing and normalization components that convert security data from firewalls, endpoints, cloud logs, and SaaS tools into a unified schema.
• Make schema mapping and normalization decisions for ambiguous, malformed, and evolving vendor data.
• Drive high-impact parser integrations and collaborate with detection, data, and integration teams.
• Use LLM-based coding assistants, AI-generated tests, automated code review, and workflow automation to accelerate parser development.
• Mentor junior engineers through design discussions and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on data parsing, integrations, or log processing.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Ruby, or C++.
• Experience with JSON, XML, CSV, syslog, key-value data, unstructured text, regular expressions, schema design, normalization, and transformation.
• Experience integrating APIs, web services, and streaming data sources, with a working understanding of cybersecurity data.
• Production experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, SIEM, or cloud security platforms.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, and cloud logging services.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience applying LLMs to log analysis, parser generation, schema inference, or data engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with MCP, function calling, or agent frameworks.
