Staff / Senior Software Engineer, Security Fusion Platform (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, and the role involves regular travel to data center sites.

Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and build an event bus, normalized event schema, source adapters, and contracts for sensor and security-system integrations.
• Develop correlation and alerting services that turn independent physical security events into actionable analyst alerts.
• Build classification and analytics pipelines using computer vision and multi-sensor fusion, with results published to the event bus.
• Develop analyst tools including queues, escalation workflows, dashboards, camera viewers, video walls, and video analytics integrations.
• Deliver tamper-evident event history, audit evidence exports, retention controls, access controls, monitoring metrics, and fail-secure behavior.
• Deploy and commission site-local and central services, specify compute and network requirements, and manage vendor and integrator acceptance.

Requirements

• Production experience building and operating event-driven backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Rust and experience with Kafka or another message bus or event-streaming system.
• End-to-end ownership of system design, technical trade-offs, delivery, and production operations.
• Experience integrating vendor APIs, on-premises appliances, video platforms, or building systems that are outside direct control.
• Experience writing vendor requirements and acceptance criteria, reviewing deliverables, and accepting or rejecting delivered work.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field; participation in on-call is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with security operations platforms, physical security operations, SOC systems, or detection engineering.
• Experience building ML or computer vision inference pipelines for video and sensor streams.
• PSIM, VMS, physical access control, or building-systems integration experience.
• Experience producing auditor-ready evidence, including log integrity, retention, and chain of custody.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools as a core part of the workflow.
