Staff Software Engineer (CTV)

What you will do

• Set technical direction for key connected TV initiatives and influence architecture, engineering standards, and platform strategy.
• Lead complex projects from problem definition and technical design through implementation, launch, and post-launch improvement.
• Design, implement, and operate scalable backend services, APIs, data systems, and workflows for CTV advertising products.
• Translate ambiguous customer and business problems into reliable, measurable, and cost-effective technical solutions.
• Partner with Product, Data, ML, UX, and Engineering teams to define scope and make product and technical trade-offs.
• Improve reliability, performance, scalability, observability, and operational practices while mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems, platforms, or user-facing products at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, Python, or another modern programming language.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience with reliable high-throughput services, APIs, relational or NoSQL databases, and large-scale data systems such as BigQuery, Bigtable, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Fluent written and verbal English is required for technical discussions with global and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with connected TV, streaming media, digital advertising, ad measurement, audience targeting, or related products.
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time processing, high-volume data pipelines, or latency-sensitive services.
• Familiarity with GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow, Kafka, Beam, or Spark.
• Experience with reliability practices such as SLIs/SLOs, capacity planning, backfill strategies, cost management, and incident response.
• Experience working in global or multi-region environments and influencing technical direction across organizational boundaries.
