Senior Backend Software Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and build greenfield production services with Java and Spring Boot for high throughput, low latency, and 99.99%+ availability.
• Develop RESTful, gRPC, MCP, and event-driven APIs for payment initiation, callbacks, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Build payout processing, card processing, FX, treasury orchestration, and cash forecasting components from scratch.
• Implement fault tolerance, idempotency, graceful degradation, observability, telemetry, and performance optimization.
• Contribute React-based internal tools, operational dashboards, and merchant-facing interfaces.
• Set up CI/CD, container infrastructure, code quality controls, and secure PCI DSS-compliant systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with deep Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• Experience building high-throughput, high-availability distributed payment or financial services systems.
• Strong knowledge of idempotency, exactly-once delivery, reconciliation, settlement, and payment architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, Kafka or RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with PCI DSS-compliant system design and secure coding practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• React experience for internal tooling and dashboards.
• Experience with Bloomberg or other real-time FX data feeds, treasury systems, or multi-currency settlement.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/camt, or payment processor and fintech environments.
• Experience building LLM-powered features, agentic workflows, MCP integrations, or using AWS Bedrock.
