Company

hirify.global Technology develops data-storage technologies, with the hirify.global Research Group advancing storage and memory technologies for the company’s long-term product roadmap.

What you will do

  • Conduct hands-on research on HAMR, all-optical magnetic recording, and ferroelectric data-storage systems.
  • Design and perform experiments to investigate fundamental recording physics using scanning probe microscopy, spinstands, electrical characterization, and custom test equipment.
  • Develop experimental methods and custom metrology for emerging storage technologies and device concepts.
  • Design, test, and characterize prototype devices, including RF and microwave components.
  • Use measurements to identify performance limiters, reliability failure modes, and electrical, magnetic, optical, and thermomechanical mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with specialists in transducer design, media development, materials science, electrical engineering, signal processing, information theory, data analysis, and modeling; communicate findings and contribute to patents, invention disclosures, trade secrets, journal articles, and white papers.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Research experience with ferroelectric or multiferroic materials and devices.
  • Experience with laboratory electronics, including oscilloscopes, SMUs, AWGs, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs.
  • Experience with scanning probe microscopy such as AFM, MFM, SKPM, SNDM, or SMIM.
  • Experience developing experimental tools or techniques for investigating surface and interface phenomena.
  • Programming experience with Python, C++, or similar languages, plus strong collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with RF or microwave devices, circuit design, and evaluation.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employee position with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, health savings account, dependent care, and healthcare spending accounts.
  • Paid time off, 12 holidays, paid sick leave, and 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
