Salary: $103,623.54–$180,181.23 per year

What you will do

• Perform scientific analysis and computational modeling of intrinsic, normal, hostile, and fratricide radiation environments and their effects on weapon systems and personnel.
• Conduct radiation transport, hardening and vulnerability, and electromagnetic pulse calculations.
• Compare modeling results with experimental data and perform verification and validation of simulation models.
• Plan and support radiation, electrical, and mechanical testing at above-ground test facilities.
• Work with software engineers to implement physics-based analysis models in maintainable software using object-oriented programming.
• Support system planning, requirements definition, assessment, qualification, technical reporting, presentations, and customer interactions.

Requirements

• BS in Physics or Nuclear Engineering with 8–10 years of experience, MS with 6–8 years, or PhD with 3–5 years.
• Experience with experimental design, execution, and modeling.
• Experience selecting and applying physical models for formal analysis of physical systems.
• Experience writing technical reports or articles and presenting results to technical experts and government customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with radiation transport codes such as MCNP or Attila and programming languages such as C++ or Python.
