Salary: USD 120,000–243,000 annual base salary in California, United States. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Research and develop networked systems technologies, architectures, and systems for AI, HPC, enterprise, and telecommunication infrastructure.
• Build and prototype distributed systems, cloud applications, network protocols, and workload orchestration platforms.
• Explore technologies including advanced wireless communications, B5G/6G, FPGAs, GPUs, SmartNICs, disaggregated systems, and high-performance interconnects.
• Develop solutions for storage, network programmability, virtualization, monitoring, anomaly analytics, sensing, localization, and network security.
• Turn fundamental research and innovative concepts into technologies ready for adoption in new and existing markets.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers while contributing independently to real-world innovation.

Requirements

• Finishing or recently completed Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven record of innovative research contributions and strong programming and system-building skills.
• Strong background in distributed systems, HPC and AI workloads, enterprise or telecommunication networks, cloud applications, and network protocols.
• Experience with C/C++, Python, Linux kernel development, network stacks, and control or orchestration platforms.
• Knowledge of protocols and technologies including IP, TCP/UDP, P4, 5G, eBPF, DPDK, Ultra Ethernet, Slingshot, and collective communication.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with CUDA, PyTorch, Kubernetes, TensorFlow, KNative, Open vSwitch, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of WiFi and cellular protocol stacks.
• Experience building wireless systems with software-defined radios such as USRPs.
• Experience with current research trends and a demonstrated ability to turn innovative ideas into working systems.
