TL;DR
Homeless Services, Coordinated Entry System Training and Instructional Design Specialist (Coordinated Entry System/HUD): Developing and delivering instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended training for Coordinated Entry System users and providers with an accent on adult-learning principles, instructional design, and HUD requirements. Focus on translating complex policy and technical information into practical learning resources, evaluating learner performance, and improving training through feedback and implementation analysis.

Location: Los Angeles Area or remote within the United States; travel throughout the Continuum of Care geography may be required.

Salary: $74,090–$125,954 annually.

What you will do

  • Develop curricula, lesson plans, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentations, job aids, FAQs, and other performance-support resources for Coordinated Entry Systems.
  • Deliver in-person training, live webinars, online learning, and blended learning using adult-learning and instructional-design principles.
  • Collaborate with CES leadership, subject-matter experts, users, and participating providers to identify learning needs and define measurable competencies.
  • Explain CES policies, procedures, workflows, assessment requirements, and system functionality to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Coordinate training logistics, learning-management-system setup, enrollment, attendance, completion tracking, and reporting.
  • Evaluate learner performance and training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, adult learning, training and development, human services, public administration, communications, social work, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least two years of directly related experience with Continuum of Care and HUD Coordinated Entry programs.
  • Experience preparing and delivering instructor-led, virtual, or online training for professional audiences.
  • Experience developing curricula, presentations, eLearning content, tutorials, job aids, or similar instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of adult-learning principles, instructional design, facilitation, learner assessment, and project management.
  • Ability to travel throughout the CoC geography as needed to deliver training and support CES partners.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of HUD Coordinated Entry requirements, the CoC Program interim rule, and related HUD guidance.
  • Experience translating complex policy, procedural, or technical information into clear learning content.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced environment and provide responsive user support.
