What you will do
- Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing process development materials.
- Develop and optimize production processes, including production flow, workstation layout, and material handling.
- Apply Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly principles to improve product producibility and quality.
- Design and implement production tooling and fixtures.
- Collaborate with design and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 4 or more years of manufacturing or process engineering experience; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency with CAD software, process documentation, engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with computer-based design and harness or wire-routing tools such as Capital or Zuken E3.
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice to have
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing and CNC machining.
- Knowledge of GD&T, parametric design, model-based definition, EBOM and MBOM, build and routing sequences, and producibility checks.
- Experience with aerospace and defense manufacturing, EWIS standards, MRB activities, and new product introduction.
- Exposure to PLM, MES, and MRP systems.
