Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, United States; onsite at the Knoxville facility

What you will do

• Support manufacturing strategy and execution for assigned products and components across the product lifecycle.
• Develop manufacturing processes, workflows, production requirements, process flows, work instructions, and technical standards.
• Support DFM/DFA reviews, NPI activities, prototype builds, production transition, and manufacturing readiness assessments.
• Investigate manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions and risk mitigation.
• Partner with operations, quality, supply chain, design, and engineering teams to improve production execution.
• Analyze yield, cycle time, and process capability while supporting tooling, process improvement, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of related experience, an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience supporting manufacturing engineering activities or production environments.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, welding, additive manufacturing, or fabrication.
• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and manage multiple priorities.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, propulsion, turbomachinery, or complex mechanical systems.
• Experience with NPI, prototype builds, or production ramp activities.
• Knowledge of GD&T, APQP, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Experience with CAD systems such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or similar platforms.
