Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States. Travel up to 20% within the continental United States.

Base salary: $145,000–$170,000 per year, excluding benefits and bonus or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead and develop manufacturing engineers across product development, manufacturing development, and rate production.
• Serve as the technical authority for Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and advanced manufacturing methods.
• Drive adoption of additive manufacturing, novel joining, robotic processing, and automated energetics handling.
• Lead the transition of energetic manufacturing processes from pilot scale to full production, including readiness gates, process controls, and qualification standards.
• Partner with engineering, automation, quality, safety, compliance, program management, suppliers, and customer representatives to develop manufacturing systems, tooling, processes, and work instructions.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods while tracking yield, defect rates, cycle time, throughput, safety, quality, and cost.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 8 years of relevant experience, or 15 years of hands-on advanced manufacturing engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 3 years of experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in DFM, DFA, producibility reviews, advanced manufacturing, process controls, and production readiness.
• Hands-on experience developing manufacturing processes, tooling, systems, SOPs, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Demonstrated application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma with measurable manufacturing improvements.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain applicable explosives licenses, pass required background investigations, and meet U.S. Government ITAR and export-control requirements. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with energetic materials, solid rocket motor manufacturing, explosives, or other hazardous manufacturing environments.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
