Senior Elixir Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote across Europe, with an option to relocate to Athens, Greece. Candidates in Greece within 55 km of the Athens office follow a hybrid model with 2 office days and 3 remote days; candidates farther away may work fully remotely. The role also includes one month of work from anywhere.

What you will do

• Design and build production Phoenix applications, REST APIs, LiveView interfaces, and real-time PubSub and Channels features.
• Model and evolve data with Ecto and PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, and zero-downtime migrations.
• Build fault-tolerant distributed systems with OTP, supervision trees, GenServers, and BEAM patterns.
• Own background processing and scheduled workloads with Oban, Telemetry, metrics, and observability tooling.
• Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes and GCP while contributing to CI/CD and release quality.
• Mentor engineers, lead code reviews and design sessions, document architecture, and collaborate with product, design, and security researchers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend or full-stack development experience, including 3+ years shipping production Elixir and Phoenix applications.
• Strong knowledge of OTP and the BEAM, including processes, supervision, GenServer, and GenStage.
• Hands-on Phoenix LiveView experience with components, streams, and JavaScript hooks.
• Deep Ecto and PostgreSQL knowledge, plus experience with background jobs and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with ExUnit, property-based testing, integration testing, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Security-minded engineering skills covering OWASP fundamentals, authentication, authorization, and secure user-data handling.
