Senior Legal Counsel - Regulatory (Payments Regulation)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid model: 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home.

What you will do

• Advise on payment regulation, digital regulation, product compliance, and consumer protection.
• Track and assess international legal and regulatory requirements and support their implementation across the group.
• Identify regulatory risks and enforcement trends, develop mitigation strategies, and engage with relevant regulators.
• Advise on commercial matters, including contracts with partners and payment processors, compliant payment models, and tariffs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, policies, guidance, and other legal documents.
• Support the Group Legal VP and wider business while using legal technology and AI tools ethically and effectively.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with at least 4 years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience advising on payments regulation and commercial matters.
• Ability to assess new international legislation and apply it to business risks and implementation plans.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, including supervising legal counsel and supporting senior legal stakeholders.
• Commercial judgment, attention to detail, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work on fast-moving projects.
