TL;DR
Audio & Communications Engineer (Broadcast): Maintaining and integrating audio and communications systems for IP-enabled outside broadcast and studio production hubs with an accent on system configuration, signal quality, and high availability. Focus on planning and testing event systems, managing remote signal paths and feed allocation, and supporting stable communications across Melbourne, Sydney, and field systems.
Location: Andrews Hub, Southbank, Melbourne, Australia. Full-time onsite role with predominant weekend and evening work due to sports productions.
Salary: AUD 90,000–100,000 annually plus superannuation.

What you will do
- Maintain audio and communications systems at the Andrews Hub and support 100% uptime for events and projects.
- Plan, configure, set up, test, calibrate, and quality-control systems for outside broadcast and studio productions.
- Manage communication system operations, signal standards, remote signal paths, feed allocation, and connectivity between hub and field systems.
- Provide technical assistance for mobile fleet communications and audio system integration.
- Maintain broadcast communications equipment and accurate technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Melbourne and Sydney Hub engineers, managers, and clients to maintain reliable communications infrastructure.
Requirements
- Technical or associate degree preferred; relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience in the broadcast industry and a background in technical support are valuable.
- Knowledge of connectivity, configuration, and operation of RTS communications systems.
- Understanding of audio console connectivity, configuration, and operation, particularly with LAWO and Calrec systems.
- Knowledge of IP audio transmission standards and conversion between standards.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, prioritization, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet explicit deadlines.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Riedel communications systems.
- Technical support experience.
