Lifecycle Costing Engineer (Satellite Telecommunications)

What you will do

• Design, update, and implement life-cycle cost models for satellite ground stations and their systems.
• Evaluate total cost of ownership, including capital investment, maintenance labor, parts usage, downtime, rebuild programs, and end-of-life factors.
• Develop integrated logistics support artefacts, including ILS plans, LORA, RAM, provisioning, and CDRLs.
• Analyze field, warranty, and service-history data to identify lifecycle cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with maintenance and service teams to validate labor times, maintenance intervals, tooling requirements, and rebuild strategies.
• Prepare data-driven reports and provide lifecycle cost inputs for pricing, commercial, and customer-facing analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in life-cycle costing, reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or cost analysis in a defense environment.
• Experience with cost model development, data collection and normalization, data analytics, systems engineering or architecture, RF engineering, or finance.
• Experience with the Systecon OPUS Suite and RAM modeling, LSA, LORA, or provisioning analysis.
• Active Australian Government Secret Clearance (NV1) required.
• Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.

• Technical understanding of satellite telecommunications systems, infrastructure, and technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, root cause analysis, and systems engineering.
• Experience with predictive analytics, decision analysis, asset management, equipment monitoring, maintenance, or safety auditing.
