Sr Designer (Telecommunications/Fiber)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; in-office work required weekly

What you will do

• Produce accurate structural, civil, and fiber engineering drawings for macro sites, small cell sites, telecommunications facilities, and fiber optic builds.
• Develop feasible designs with engineers, including aerial and underground fiber layouts, conduit paths, utility profiles, and traffic control plans.
• Review blueprints, structural drawings, construction plans, right-of-way information, and utility documentation.
• Review junior designers’ work, provide quality control, and support training and mentorship.
• Assist with design-team resource allocation, project assignments, vendor coordination, and daily project communication.
• Adapt designs to new telecommunications equipment, client standards, construction methods, and project types.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience producing engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience producing structural or civil engineering drawings for telecommunications site builds, upgrades, or fiber optic networks.
• Strong telecommunications, utility, structural, civil, and fiber design knowledge, including aerial and underground deployments.
• Ability to handle complex design tasks independently and interpret building, tower, structural, and construction drawings.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, building construction, or a related technical field preferred.
