MCR Operator

What you will do

• Route signals according to booking information, workflows, and operating procedures.
• Manage daily transmission workloads with other members of the MCR Operations team.
• Perform quality control for video and audio transmissions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate them to the Engineer-in-Charge or service providers.
• Book and operate third-party services, including satellite space segment and fiber circuits.
• Handle client transmission requests, document technical issues, operate broadcast equipment, and support special event coverage.

Requirements

• English and Spanish bilingual proficiency required.
• At least two years of experience in a broadcast environment.
• Familiarity with broadcast routers, waveform monitors, receivers, and VTR decks.
• Knowledge of satellite transmissions and RF delivery.
• Effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, computer, and customer service skills.
• Availability for late nights, weekends, holidays, and a 40-hour weekly schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience in an MCR or transmission facility.
• HD and quality control experience.
• Postproduction experience.
• Experience with new media, encoding, and streaming technologies.
