Functional Safety Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Kraków, Poland. Hybrid work with 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely, or 100% remote.

Salary: 960–1,400 PLN/day net + VAT on a B2B contract.

What you will do

• Evaluate safety goals and functional safety requirements with the customer.
• Define technical safety requirements and safety concepts for power electronics inverter controllers.
• Develop system architectures and align the technical safety concept with the customer.
• Perform risk and safety analyses, including SFMEA, FTA, FMEDA, and software freedom-from-interference analysis.
• Support and track functional test planning, test-bench and vehicle testing, and customer validation programs.
• Monitor the integration of the safety concept into products developed for electrified vehicles.

Requirements

• Master’s or Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of the ISO 26262 product development process.
• Experience with requirements elicitation, analysis, definition, and management, including tools such as Polarion and development models such as A-SPICE.
• Good foundational knowledge of both hardware and software.
• Fluent English required for international collaboration.
• Organized and structured working style, attention to detail, and willingness to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive high-voltage power electronics systems.
• German and/or French language skills.
