Airframe Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Perform fatigue and damage tolerance assessments for critical primary fuselage and airframe structures.
• Prepare airworthiness justification documents and support compliance with CS/FAR 25 fatigue and damage tolerance requirements.
• Support full-scale and component fatigue testing, including load spectrum definition, test monitoring, crack-growth correlation, and model calibration.
• Assess the fatigue impact of in-service structural modification requests to maintain operational safety.
• Improve internal F&DT tools and automate calculation routines using Python.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with fatigue analysis, fracture mechanics, and damage tolerance principles for airframe structures.
• Familiarity with FEM tools such as HyperMesh and standard industry F&DT software routines.
• Fluent English is required as the working language.
• High attention to detail, strong collaboration skills, and commitment to safety and innovation.

• Python scripting skills.
• Strong fundamentals in airframe stress analysis and motivation to develop further.
