Vice President, Credit Ratings - Financial Institutions Group

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with four days in the office each week

Base salary: CAD 109,489–160,711 per year; 30% annual incentive target

hirify.global provides independent credit ratings and opinions for corporate and sovereign entities, financial institutions, and project and structured finance instruments.

What you will do

• Act as lead and backup analyst for a portfolio of Canadian banks, non-bank financial institutions, and credit unions.
• Perform ongoing credit analysis and surveillance of assigned issuers.
• Participate in rating committees and attend issuer meetings.
• Prepare rating committee presentations, press releases, rating reports, and topical research.
• Build and maintain relationships with issuers and investors through client-facing activities.
• Travel as required for issuer and business engagements.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or a closely related field.
• Seven to ten years of experience in bank or financial institution credit analysis, ratings, or a directly related field.
• Strong knowledge of the financial industry and financial institution sectors.
• Strong financial statement analysis, spreadsheet, research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and produce high-quality work.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, CPA, or CFA.
• Bloomberg skills.
