Design Program Manager, Research Operations (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States. Remote work is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from a Stripe office; regular work from a Stripe office is not expected. Stripe does not cover relocation to a remote location.

Salary: $137,100–$205,700 annual US base salary. Additional benefits may include equity, bonuses, 401(k), medical, dental and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.

What you will do

• Lead programs for the Research organization and develop processes and resources that scale the use of user insights.
• Improve operating models and workflows through automation, repeatable methodologies, and impact measurement.
• Design, build, and oversee autonomous multi-agent workflows for researchers.
• Build custom tools, agents, automations, and skills for research workflows.
• Evaluate new tools with researchers and cross-functional partners and scale successful approaches.
• Manage priorities, risks, vendors, statements of work, business terms, and budgets with Research leadership, Design Operations, Legal, Security, and Procurement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in design thinking, qualitative or quantitative research, user experience, or program management, including work with research teams.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered tools, agents, automations, or workflows that improve real work processes.
• Experience coaching, teaching, or enabling others and demonstrating changes in how people work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and relationships across product, marketing, support, and design teams.
• Product-builder mindset with experience turning AI experiments into polished, production-ready tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with research and design tools such as Qualtrics, Sprig, Figma, Dovetail, or design system management tools.
• Experience with Claude, Claude Code, Codex, agent frameworks, API integrations, or workflow automation tools.
• Experience with change management, organizational transformation, or large-scale enablement programs.
• Experience scaling internal tools, templates, or playbooks beyond an immediate team.
