Frontend Developer (React)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office

Salary: CA$162,000–CA$256,000 per year in total compensation

Netflix Animation Studios creates animated films and develops technology and production tools for animation studios in Vancouver, Burbank, and Sydney.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and support web applications and user interfaces with multiple features and external dependencies.
• Build and support Flow Production Tracking integrations, including embedded web views and action menu items.
• Partner with Production users to understand workflows, gather requirements, and translate use cases into technical solutions.
• Work with service APIs and troubleshoot issues through root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with designers and technology teams to deliver effective user experiences and production tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a front-end engineer.
• Professional experience in the animation, VFX, or games industries and experience with Flow Production Tracking.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Vite, npm, and Node.
• Ability to read and understand code in multiple programming languages, with a strong foundation in computer science, software design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Experience collaborating with designers, supporting users, gathering feedback, and communicating technical solutions effectively.
• Ability to work in Vancouver in a hybrid arrangement requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js or other web frameworks.
• Experience with Java, Python, or desktop UI frameworks such as PyQt.
• Experience with GraphQL and gRPC service APIs.
