Software Engineer 3, Networking & Observability

Location: New York City office or remote within the United States and Canada

Salary: $106,000–$209,000 USD base salary annually for U.S.-based candidates

What you will do

• Improve hirify.global networking and observability functionality within the distributed database codebase.
• Lead medium-sized networking or observability projects from technical design through delivery.
• Build components that facilitate communication between distributed processes and make their behavior observable.
• Improve networking stack performance, resource utilization, availability, and scalability.
• Enhance observability using OpenTelemetry and other open observability frameworks.
• Collaborate across ideation, requirements gathering, design, execution, delivery, and code review.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building distributed systems.
• Production-level software development experience; C++ experience is required.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, software design, and architecture.
• Interest in networking, observability, computer architecture, and system internals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
• Ability to work from the United States or Canada, or from the New York City office.
