Principal TPM of Data Acquisition Operations (AI)

Location: Mountain View, United States

Salary: USD $165,600–$296,400 per year across the U.S.; USD $220,800–$331,200 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end operating and governance model for acquired and cross-company data.
• Manage operations, automation, and engineering teams, including technical leads and the acquisition infrastructure function.
• Set and deliver the platform roadmap for automated ingestion, validation, metadata capture, publishing, reporting, and dataset-to-training-run lineage.
• Lead supplier onboarding, work orders, delivery requirements, quality measurement, and payment-readiness tracking.
• Partner with compliance, infrastructure, platform, legal, finance, research, and engineering stakeholders on governance, access control, retention, licensing, and audit obligations.
• Build a researcher-facing catalog that makes acquired data discoverable, well-described, and trustworthy.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading large-scale data operations, supply chain, vendor and supplier management, or procurement operations.
• Experience managing engineering teams, owning technical roadmaps, and making build, buy, and partner decisions.
• Experience replacing manual, spreadsheet-driven workflows with enterprise platforms and reliable systems.
• Technical fluency in data pipelines, ETL, SQL/Kusto, data warehouses, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, ingestion, validation, cloud storage, access control, metadata, and lineage.
• Experience working with data governance, privacy, licensing, regulatory, audit, and disclosure requirements.
• Strong executive communication and familiarity with AI/ML data, including pretraining corpora, multimodal data, post-training, and reinforcement-learning task supply.
