Principal Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: San Diego, California or Mountain View, California

Salary: $219,500–$297,000 in San Diego; $238,000–$322,000 in Mountain View

What you will do

• Lead strategic software programs and portfolios, driving end-to-end delivery and transformational change.
• Define program outcomes, delivery plans, governance models, operating rhythms, and accountability mechanisms.
• Direct and orchestrate AI agent tools in complex program management and delivery work.
• Identify risks and dependencies, evaluate delivery paths, and communicate progress and strategic recommendations.
• Build scalable program management frameworks, tools, templates, and experimentation-to-adoption models.
• Mentor program managers and influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across a matrix organization.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience building, leading, and delivering complex large-scale technical programs and portfolios.
• Deep understanding of software development approaches, architecture, software lifecycle, and platform architectures.
• Hands-on experience directing AI agents and agent-driven product development, with sound judgment regarding delivery acceleration and risk.
• Experience shaping strategy, prioritizing across portfolios, managing complex change, and making data-informed decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work in San Diego or Mountain View, California.

Nice to have

• PMP or Agile certification.
• Practical technical program management experience equivalent to formal certification.
