Principal Technical Program Manager, AI Physical Deployment

Location: AMER; occasional travel to project sites required

Salary: $250,000–$303,000 USD base salary per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and/or commission programs

What you will do

• Lead complex data center infrastructure and physical deployment programs from initial planning through operational readiness.
• Coordinate stakeholders across data center development, design and construction, engineering, power and utilities, procurement, supply chain, finance, legal, security, networking, and operations.
• Own RFx processes, vendor relationships, contract coordination, cost-efficiency initiatives, and escalation management.
• Establish communication channels, decision forums, delivery milestones, governance standards, risk controls, and operating rhythms.
• Translate technical, commercial, operational, and financial complexity into actionable plans and executive decisions.
• Mentor program managers and onsite technicians through playbooks, reviews, structured decision-making, and hands-on coaching without formal reporting lines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical program management delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure or physical deployment projects.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, distributed systems, networking, and mission-critical environments.
• Experience with modern program management methodologies, including Agile or Scrum, supported by strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience defining, tracking, and improving operational metrics such as uptime, availability, MTTR, SLOs, and SLIs.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, multiple priorities, evolving technical requirements, and senior stakeholder alignment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with data center build-outs, hardware commissioning, hyperscale or public cloud environments, and 24/7 mission-critical services.
• Knowledge of AI/HPC infrastructure, NVIDIA GPUs, InfiniBand/RDMA networks, GPU clusters, and tightly coupled systems.
• Familiarity with SRE principles, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with data center power, utilities, substations, generators, switchgear, cooling systems, MEP dependencies, and end-to-end lifecycle delivery.
• Experience with program delivery tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, or Tableau; PMP, PgMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
