Senior Manager, Application Development (Cloud)

Location: Hybrid, based in Chicago, Illinois, with in-office attendance required 2–3 days per week. The position requires reliable, punctual attendance and authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

Base salary: $140,600–$183,108 per year, plus potential bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the evolution and modernization of Navigator, a strategic reservations support platform used by customer service employees.
• Own technology strategy, engineering roadmaps, and end-to-end delivery for critical customer service applications.
• Guide architecture, application design, integrations, cloud adoption, security, resiliency, performance, and maintainability.
• Drive delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives, managing scope, schedules, budgets, quality, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
• Establish engineering practices across Agile delivery, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and production readiness.
• Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams while partnering with product, business, architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, vendors, and senior leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive technology experience delivering and operating enterprise-scale applications, including 4+ years of leadership experience.
• Technical understanding of Angular, TypeScript, .NET, RESTful APIs, component-based architectures, and responsive web applications.
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP, serverless technologies, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, API gateways, web services, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Knowledge of Agile SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, application performance management, observability, resiliency, and production reliability.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or relevant Agile, SAFe, cloud, or architecture certification.
• Experience in airline, contact center, customer service, or other high-volume customer-facing technology environments.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating workloads to cloud-native, API-driven, and component-based architectures.
• Experience leading highly available, business-critical production platforms.
