Engineering Manager, Cloud Engineering (AWS)

Location: Remote - US

Salary: $163,000–$224,070 annually for Zone 3 US locations; other geographic zones range from $172,600–$237,270 and $191,800–$263,670. All zones include a 10% bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a senior Cloud Engineering team through coaching, feedback, performance management, career development, hiring, and team planning.
• Own operational health for cloud infrastructure, including incident response, on-call health, service-level objectives, resilience, and disaster recovery.
• Plan and deliver a multi-quarter infrastructure insourcing program, managing dependencies, milestones, and the transition to internal ownership.
• Guide technical priorities across AWS, networking, multi-region Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, GitOps, datastore operations, and compliance infrastructure.
• Build automation, software, and paved paths that enable product engineering teams to use infrastructure safely and independently.
• Partner with platform and product engineering teams on migrations, shared infrastructure priorities, operational risks, and cross-team dependencies.

Requirements

• 2+ years managing an infrastructure, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering team at a product company, including an on-call team.
• Demonstrated ownership of incident response, on-call health, and service-level objective frameworks for critical production systems.
• Experience leading a multi-quarter infrastructure migration or insourcing program from planning through completion.
• Technical fluency with AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Experience maintaining engagement, performance, and retention through a leadership transition.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with a calm and accountable leadership approach during incidents and periods of change.

Nice to have

• Experience with vendor negotiations or cloud cost management.
• Experience supporting FedRAMP or other compliance-related infrastructure and operations.
• Experience operating large-scale datastores or OLAP systems.
• Experience growing a team through funded expansion.
