Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering (Cloud)

Location: Remote within the United States; employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions.

Base salary: $206,700–$330,300 annually in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington, DC; $196,400–$313,800 annually in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia. Actual pay depends on experience, performance, and location.

What you will do

• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for one or more software engineering teams.
• Lead the design, development, and operation of scalable, secure, and reliable software systems for rental applications, screening, leasing, and move-in workflows.
• Manage, coach, and develop engineering managers and senior engineers while building an inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Partner with Product Management, Technical Program Management, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize work and make data-informed trade-offs.
• Establish engineering metrics covering reliability, throughput, quality, and delivery performance.
• Coordinate cross-team initiatives and drive adoption of CI/CD, automation, cloud-native architectures, and productivity tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in people leadership roles.
• Experience leading teams that build and operate production software.
• Proven experience delivering and scaling high-availability, high-volume applications or platforms in a modern cloud environment.
• Experience building, mentoring, and retaining diverse engineering teams.
• Experience partnering with product and cross-functional teams to define roadmaps, ship features, and iterate using data and customer feedback.
