Senior Living Risk Management Consultant

Location: Remote within any of the lower 48 U.S. states; occasional and potentially frequent overnight travel is required, with physical site surveys. Candidates should reside near a metropolitan airport. The role may require relocation.

Salary: $118,000–$178,000 expected starting annual range; national range of $118,000–$222,000.

What you will do

• Conduct clinical risk assessments for senior living accounts, focusing on professional liability and abuse exposures.
• Evaluate customer controls, policies, and procedures and recommend improvements to prevent abuse and reduce liability.
• Research customer operations, industry requirements, loss trends, and technical information to prepare surveys and consulting engagements.
• Develop leadership articles, training modules, administrator checklists, technical reports, and publications.
• Partner with underwriting, agents, customers, leadership, and subject matter experts to deliver customized risk management solutions.
• Perform physical site surveys, present recommendations, and support customer profitability, retention, safety, and operational resilience.

Requirements

• Experience in senior living communities, skilled nursing, commercial loss control, or a related area; typically 10 or more years of experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of professional liability and abuse risk exposures, prevention strategies, and control measures.
• Strong regulatory, survey, safety, and risk management knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, science, engineering, fire protection, or construction management is preferred.
• At least one relevant designation, such as CSP, CDS, ARM, or another approved credential; required state certifications must be obtained.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to use risk assessment and reporting systems, and ability to climb, stoop, bend, balance, crawl, lift 50 pounds, use PPE, and work in inclement weather.

Nice to have

• Licensed RN, LPN/LVN, or comparable clinical professional qualification.
• MLIS, ARM, ASHRM, CSP, CDS, or another professional certification.
