Senior or Lead-Strategy and Risk Consultant (Hybrid)

Location: Columbus, Ohio office, hybrid with three days per week in the office. Occasional travel of 5–10% may be required, along with emergency-response support outside normal business hours.

Salary: $82,200–$123,200 per year.

What you will do

• Perform industry, competitor, customer, and trend analysis to identify opportunities, barriers, risks, and strategic implications.
• Build and maintain Excel-based financial and decision-support models to evaluate tradeoffs under uncertainty.
• Integrate enterprise risk information using risk registers, dashboards, tracking metrics, and mitigation monitoring.
• Track initiative performance, synthesize quantitative and qualitative data, and develop recommendations and business cases.
• Prepare executive presentation materials and support strategic communication across functions.
• Lead assigned project deliverables, timelines, resources, issue escalation, and coordination under the direction of Strategy leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience for the Senior level; 4–6 years for the Lead level.
• Experience using Excel for data analysis, handling large datasets, and building financial or decision-support models.
• Experience applying economic, statistical, and econometric concepts and methods, with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and coordinate projects, manage deliverables with minimal supervision, resolve complex problems, and communicate with senior executives and external stakeholders.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Electric or gas utility experience.
• Experience with failure mode analysis, stochastic modeling, cause analysis, fault trees, quantitative analysis, or Monte Carlo simulations.
• MBA, operational excellence, Six Sigma, or project management experience.
• Experience communicating strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
