Apprentice Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Fully onsite in Long Beach, California, United States

Salary: $24–$33 per hour, plus equity and benefits; eligible for overtime.

What you will do

• Support mechanical assembly and integration of spacecraft structures, components, mechanisms, panels, brackets, fasteners, and flight hardware.
• Perform trained mechanical operations including fastening, torquing, taping, hardware installation, and part preparation.
• Assist with spacecraft and component test setup, functional and environmental testing, fixture installation, equipment setup, and post-test activities.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring equipment, and production equipment while following drawings, procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support material handling, hardware movement, tool control, shop organization, inventory, and general production needs.
• Follow FOD, ESD, cleanliness, PPE, hardware-handling, shop safety, and quality requirements; document work and report discrepancies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 year of manufacturing, mechanical, technical, automotive, aerospace, aviation, electronics, or similar hands-on experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn; comfort using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and work across multiple production-shop areas.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Long Beach, California, lift 25 pounds, and work in or around constrained or confined spaces.

Nice to have

• Trade school, technical school, apprenticeship, or relevant technical training.
• Coursework or experience in manufacturing, mechanical systems, automotive, aviation, aerospace, electronics, machining, or a related field.
• Experience with engineering drawings, work instructions, torque tools, calipers, gauges, or other measurement equipment.
• Previous manufacturing, production, maintenance, laboratory, or technical-environment experience.
