Quality Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; fully onsite with daily collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams

What you will do

• Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections of aerospace components and assemblies.
• Use precision measurement tools and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Document inspection results, maintain quality records and traceability, and initiate NCRs with detailed discrepancy descriptions.
• Support Root Cause Analysis and CAPA activities to investigate defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve production processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and compliant inspection area.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in aerospace, mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and general ISO quality systems, plus familiarity with FAA or similar regulatory requirements.
• Experience with precision measurement tools, mechanical assemblies, tolerances, fit requirements, avionics systems, connectors, wire harnesses, and standard testing methods.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving, communication, and record-keeping skills, including Root Cause Analysis and CAPA.
• Personal transportation is required. Background check and applicable drug test clearance are required; the role also involves lifting up to 40 pounds, confined-space work, and a 200-pound structure weight limit for upper airship sections.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of non-destructive testing methods.
• Six Sigma training.
• Experience supporting AS9100 compliance in aerospace or manufacturing.
