TL;DR
Material Program Manager IV (Aerospace & Defense): Leading material schedules, budgets, subcontractor execution, and supply chain delivery for DoD propulsion programs with an accent on earned value management, financial forecasting, and customer-facing program reviews. Focus on coordinating critical suppliers, resolving material shortages, managing program risks, and presenting status and recovery plans to executive and customer stakeholders.

Location: Folsom, California, United States; travel up to 10% within the United States.

Salary: $140,000–$195,000 USD base salary annually.

What you will do

  • Own material schedules, budgets, Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and earned value management activities.
  • Lead program execution with key propulsion subcontractors across SRR, PDR, CDR, and other program phases.
  • Manage project-level profit and loss, estimates at completion, material sales forecasting, accruals, and cost accounts.
  • Coordinate supplier delivery schedules, analyze supply and demand, and resolve critical material shortages.
  • Present program status, risks, plans, and material information to technical teams, executives, leadership, customers, and program reviews.
  • Support proposals, new business opportunities, continuous improvement, and data-driven solutions to complex supply chain problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business and at least 20 years of program management and/or supply chain management experience, including five years managing DoD propulsion-related programs.
  • US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Government-issued Secret clearance are required.
  • Applicants must qualify as a US Person under applicable ITAR and EAR requirements.
  • Experience managing large subcontracts and working on prime defense programs in material program management or supply chain management.
  • Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans.
  • Strong program, budget, written communication, presentation, and Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience managing rocket propulsion defense system programs, including propulsion control systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in systems, aerospace, or mechanical engineering and PMP certification.
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes, Lean and Six Sigma, proposal efforts, and business development.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA.
