Agency Managing Director (Commercial P&C)(Remote in AZ, CO or UT)

Location: Hybrid in Phoenix, Arizona, or remote from other areas of Arizona, Colorado, or Utah; travel required up to 40%.

What you will do

• Oversee agency financial performance, profitability, growth trends, submissions, and commission structures.
• Build and execute agency business plans aligned with strategic objectives.
• Manage agency partnerships, serve as the primary internal advocate, and provide access to resources and support.
• Exercise premium authority and influence account-level underwriting decisions while maintaining customer service standards.
• Develop new and existing agency relationships, build opportunity pipelines, and gather marketplace intelligence.
• Serve as the escalation point for critical agency issues and coordinate timely resolution across functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of market-facing experience; underwriting experience is preferred.
• At least 3 years of direct business relationships with agency ownership or leadership is preferred.
• Experience identifying long-term opportunities and risks, aligning agency efforts with strategic goals, and motivating teams.
• Strong relationship-building, strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, influencing, and persuasion skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to travel up to 40%.
