Senior Electric Distribution Engineer, Asset Strategy Engineering - Oakland

Location: Oakland, California, United States. Hybrid work from a remote office and the assigned work location based on business needs.

Salary: $161,520–$207,504 annual salary range.

What you will do

• Develop technical, planning, and project implementation solutions for substation, distribution, distribution network, and distributed generation systems.
• Apply power systems engineering expertise to resolve complex problems and improve company performance.
• Approve distribution load forecasts and load-growth regression models, and lead capacity planning and distributed energy resource initiatives.
• Prepare system-wide analyses, recommendations, reliability reports, performance metrics, and regulatory data.
• Lead outage review activities, distribution automation initiatives, benchmarking, and asset strategy projects.
• Provide technical guidance, training, coaching, and mentoring to engineering and operations personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university; other engineering disciplines may be considered.
• Minimum eight years of experience in electrical power engineering and design.
• Extensive knowledge of power systems engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement between a remote office and the assigned Oakland work location.
• Ability to support regulatory proceedings, stakeholder communications, engineering standards, and cross-functional initiatives.

Nice to have

• Active California PE license.
• Experience in distribution equipment life-cycle asset management.
• Experience with data analytics, reliability analysis, and reliability improvement.
• Experience with power flow analysis, power system theory, voltage stability, and transmission, substation, and distribution planning.
