What you will do

• Design, build, and test epigenetic reprogramming interventions for aged and diseased hepatocytes with Single Cell Technology, Epigenetic Editing, and Predictive Modeling teams.
• Develop assays and preclinical liver disease models to measure hepatocyte function.
• Evaluate epigenetic reprogramming payloads through in vivo functional assays and select therapeutic candidates.
• Deliver reprogramming perturbations to hepatocytes in vivo using viral vectors, lipid nanoparticles, and other transgenic manipulation methods.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data to support preclinical decision-making.
• Contribute to team decisions and provide subject-matter expertise in liver biology and metabolism.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience of 5+ years.
• Experience isolating and functionally characterizing primary liver cells.
• Experience with mouse models of liver dysfunction.
• Experience with transgenic manipulation of liver cells ex vivo or in vivo, including viral vectors or nucleic acid delivery.
• Exceptional organizational skills, detailed experimental record-keeping, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to preclinical or clinical drug development programs.
• Experience leading preclinical studies in mouse models.
• Experience with single-cell genomics methods.
• Experience with pooled screening approaches using bulk or single-cell readouts, such as CRISPR fitness screens or Perturb/CROP-seq.
