Nanoparticle Formulation Scientist

Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; onsite role

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year in total compensation, including bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Develop lipid and polymeric nanoparticle formulations for mRNA, DNA, RNA, and peptide delivery across targeted disease applications.
• Develop methods to characterize and evaluate the physical properties of antibody-decorated lipid nanoparticles.
• Advance high-throughput lipid nanoparticle preparation and downstream processes to improve production efficiency.
• Produce formulations and support in vitro functional assays for RNA development projects.
• Prepare study protocols, technical reports, and SOPs; collaborate with customers, scientific meeting participants, and IP counsel.
• Monitor supplies and maintain clean, organized work areas, equipment, and storage spaces.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• More than 4 years of relevant nucleic acid delivery experience, including hands-on lipid nanoparticle formulation and characterization.
• Strong knowledge of lipid and polymeric nanoparticle delivery technologies and extensive nanoparticle production and analytical characterization experience.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques for mRNA and protein expression, including RT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry.
• Experience with RNA analytics, including RiboGreen, gel electrophoresis, and capillary electrophoresis.
• Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, humility, and continuous-learning skills.
