Development Off-Shift Engineer - Early Career (Semiconductor)

Location: Normandale campus in Edina and Bloomington, United States; onsite cleanroom and factory-floor work required.

Salary: $70,000–$79,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Support and maintain processes for the latest recording-head designs during off-shift hours.
• Work with cleanroom technologies including deposition, etch, chemical mechanical polishing, and photolithography.
• Optimize wafer flows, reduce cycle time and scrap, and resolve operational issues.
• Investigate root causes of process failures and coordinate process experiments.
• Perform detailed data analysis and troubleshoot issues on the factory floor.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists across shifts and departments.

Requirements

• Willingness and ability to work in a cleanroom and onsite factory environment.
• Availability for a 12-hour off-shift schedule, Thursday–Sunday from 3:30 PM to 3:30 AM, alternating between 3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• Exposure to semiconductor processes such as lithography, etch, plating, film deposition, or metrology.
• Strong data analysis, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and execution skills.
• Familiarity with coding or scripting for data analysis and automation.
