Process Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite role with occasional domestic and international travel of up to 25%

Salary: $87,898–$128,917 per year, plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

• Set up and clean process equipment for customer demonstrations, load and dispose of chemistry, develop design of experiments, perform experiments, and prepare customer-facing reports.
• Operate single-wafer wet-process semiconductor equipment and PSP software for process testing and experimental runs.
• Develop project requirements, gather and analyze experimental data, and improve equipment processes and toolsets.
• Operate metrology equipment including SEM/EDX, profilometer, SP2, and related laboratory systems.
• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment upgrades, and repairs.
• Collaborate with chemical, mechanical, electrical, and computer science engineers to support customer applications and equipment development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience or a related PhD.
• Hands-on technical experience in laboratory, manufacturing, equipment development, semiconductor, thin-film, MEMS, or similar environments.
• Experience with complex mechanical and electrical systems, plus the ability to independently diagnose and repair electromechanical issues.
• Data analysis experience with Python, JMP, MATLAB, or a similar environment.
• Ability to work in clean-room attire, use required PPE, follow safety procedures, and lift, pull, or push objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, independent work capability, and flexibility to work various shifts when needed.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor equipment or clean-room fabrication experience.
• Programming experience with Python or R and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Experience with optical microscopy, SEM, AFM, ellipsometry, surface particle measurement, profilometry, or four-point probe equipment.
