Senior Protection Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; travel up to 20%

What you will do

• Lead the specification, design, implementation, and testing of fault analysis tools for electric power systems.
• Analyze fault and power quality data from protective relays, digital fault recorders, meters, and other sensors.
• Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and UX designers to create tools that automate event analysis, locate faults, and help prevent outages.
• Teach customers how to implement, deploy, and use fault analysis tools.
• Share engineering knowledge with global colleagues and gather product feedback.
• Author and review white papers, application guides, technical papers, and industry articles, and present at conferences and seminars.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience with power system protection, fault analysis, and fault location.
• Experience with utility or industrial power systems, including protection, fault analysis, and power quality analysis.
• Experience with Synchrowave software and SEL products.
• Strong communication, writing, presentation, problem-solving, and learning skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
