Power System Protection Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: Pullman, WA; Provo, UT; or Boise, ID. The role includes 25% travel.

Salary: $85,000–$170,400 per year.

What you will do

• Provide expert guidance to customers on power system protection technologies and solutions.
• Design demonstrations that show how new technologies can improve customer power systems.
• Support protection product questions and provide troubleshooting guidance to identify root causes.
• Analyze protective relay responses to power system faults.
• Teach customers to use protection products and understand how protective relays protect electrical equipment.
• Contribute to technical publications and provide product feedback to research and development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with power system protection and relays.
• Experience with utility and/or industrial power systems, including protection, control, and operations.
• Strong customer relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
