Registered Nurse - PRN (Occupational Health)

What you will do

• Assess patient care needs, conduct nursing evaluations, and provide treatment within the scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners on further evaluation and care.
• Perform and document medical tests and screenings, including EKG, audiometry, spirometry, and vision testing.
• Administer medications and emergency care, maintain medical equipment, and follow infection-control procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient health records, educate patients on health promotion, and participate in follow-up care.
• Work PRN shifts as needed to support health center coverage, with preferred overnight availability Tuesday–Friday from 11:00 PM–7:00 AM and Saturday–Sunday from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.

Requirements

• Certificate from an accredited nursing school or an associate degree in nursing is required; a BSN is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is required.
• Current hands-on Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider is required; ACLS may be required depending on the site contract.
• At least three years of Registered Nurse experience in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or ambulatory care clinic.
• Occupational Health Nursing, Emergency Nursing, or Case Management certification is preferred and may be required for some sites.
• Work must be performed at the health center in Frederick, Maryland.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Emergency Nursing, or Case Management.
• Occupational health experience in an employee health setting.
