Wind Technician (Wind Turbines)

Location: Taft, Texas, United States; onsite at a wind farm with travel to up to three additional sites as required.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and on time.
• Climb turbines up to 300 feet, work in confined spaces at elevation, and operate in adverse weather conditions.
• Record service activities and support the development of field procedures.
• Follow site, safety, and environmental requirements while responding to hazardous situations.
• Travel to other sites and take on site-lead responsibilities depending on project needs and experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a technical, mechanical, or electrical field; wind-turbine experience is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, including PLCs and converters.
• Ability to work safely in a team, make independent decisions, and meet the physical demands of the role, including ladder climbing of at least 87 meters, lifting, bending, and overhead work.
• Weight under 265 pounds and ability to pass a job-specific medical examination.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record required throughout employment.
