Body Exteriors and Closures CAE Engineer (Automotive CAE)

Location: Hybrid in Allen Park, Michigan; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $116,459.00–$188,186.16 per year.

What you will do

• Lead CAE analysis for next-generation Model e products, focusing on body exteriors and closures.
• Work with design and release engineers to resolve design issues through linear and non-linear CAE analysis.
• Develop component-, system-, and vehicle-level CAE models in line with hirify.global modeling and analysis guidelines.
• Direct other analysts in creating CAE models and performing analysis.
• Conduct design-of-experiments studies and optimize designs for performance, cost, and mass.
• Develop CAE-based countermeasures and design proposals that meet cost, weight, and performance targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in the offered role or a related occupation.
• At least 4 years of experience with Altair HyperMesh or ANSA, Abaqus, and LS-DYNA, including model creation, debugging, and results generation.
• At least 3 years of experience optimizing mass and performance with tools such as Tosca or OptiStruct.
• Experience analyzing metallic and non-metallic structures, correlating tests with CAE results, and verifying vehicle- and system-level performance.
• At least 1 year of experience developing or using Python/TCL scripts for CAE preprocessing automation and material verification.
