Technical Operations Manager (Commercial Solar and Battery Energy Storage)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical contact for clients managing portfolios of approximately 250–350 MW of distributed solar assets.
• Review service reports, join weekly client calls, and provide technical guidance to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Investigate asset issues through monitoring platforms, manage service tickets, and coordinate planned and unplanned field activities.
• Support onsite technicians and collaborate with engineering firms on retrofits, repowering, and system redesigns.
• Own the technical aspects of the commercial battery energy storage program, including sales support, pricing, scope development, contract review, and implementation.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures and quality assurance and quality control programs.

Requirements

• Typically 3+ years of hands-on experience as a solar technician, installer, OEM field service engineer, or similar professional, including at least 2 years in commercial solar.
• Typically 4+ years of professional experience in the solar energy industry or equivalent experience in account management, asset management, operations and maintenance, or field service coordination.
• Hands-on experience with 1000V+ DC systems, three-phase AC interconnections, and advanced diagnostics for projects exceeding 500 kW.
• Familiarity with energy storage technologies, solar monitoring DAS platforms, and system design drawings.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, make independent decisions, communicate professionally, and de-escalate difficult situations.

Nice to have

• Deep technical knowledge of commercial battery energy storage systems.
• NABCEP certification.
• Salesforce experience.
