Compliance Engineer (AI Hardware)

What you will do

• Lead carrier and regulatory certification programs, including FCC, ISED, CE RED, UKCA, PTCRB, and GCF, from product definition through launch.
• Manage readiness for wireless, safety, EMC, RF exposure, SAR/MPE, and country-specific type approvals.
• Build technical relationships with mobile carriers, test laboratories, certification bodies, and chipset vendors.
• Coordinate hardware, software, RF, modem, QA, and product teams to resolve testing issues and certification blockers.
• Translate requirements for 4G/5G, VoLTE, eSIM, carrier aggregation, and roaming into product roadmaps for market expansion.
• Establish compliance matrices, risk-tracking frameworks, repeatable processes, and executive dashboards across multiple products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in technical program management, carrier or regulatory certification, or wireless engineering.
• Experience launching connected consumer electronics, IoT devices, wearables, or other carrier-connected hardware globally.
• Deep understanding of 4G LTE, 5G NSA/SA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and network interoperability.
• Ability to communicate complex technical risks to executives, influence cross-functional teams, and manage external partners.
