Director of Development, National Capital Region Chapter

Location: Remote/Virtual within the DC Metro area; must reside in the local community served by the National Capital Region Chapter. Local travel may be up to 40% or less, with required overnight travel several times per year for offsites, planning retreats, and company-wide events.

Salary: $87,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Assist the Chapter Executive Director with local fundraising strategy and revenue goals.
• Build and manage a portfolio of at least 30 new major gift prospects through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
• Partner with the national Development team to identify funding opportunities and support grant proposals and reporting.
• Coordinate donor recognition, communications, engagement events, and accurate CRM activity tracking.
• Represent the chapter at sponsored events, community activities, and networking opportunities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Demonstrated success in individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grant writing, or major fundraising events.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce.
• Residence in the local community served by the chapter is required.
• Ability to travel locally, travel overnight several times per year, and work nights, weekends, or holidays when necessary.
