Legal Operations Manager (iGaming)

Location: New York City, hybrid; the position includes a hybrid work arrangement.

Salary: $94,000–$142,000 USD per year, with eligibility for performance-based incentive compensation.

Company

Mobile gaming and sports betting business operating sportsbook, iGaming, horse racing, daily fantasy sports, television, and streaming products across the United States, Canada, and other international markets.

What you will do

• Execute and evolve the outside counsel management strategy, including billing guidelines, rate structures, performance metrics, and firm relationship governance.
• Lead strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, invoice review, accruals, and spend accountability for outside counsel.
• Use Brightflag reporting and analytics to deliver actionable legal spend insights and business intelligence.
• Conduct spend benchmarking and market analysis to support rate negotiations, cost transparency, and law firm performance management.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Accounting, Procurement, IT, and Accounts Payable to improve systems, workflows, and data integrity.
• Manage legal operations projects, document processes, develop workflow diagrams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Legal Operations, Finance, or related roles, including deep expertise in outside counsel management and eBilling.
• At least 3–4 years of hands-on Brightflag experience in system administration, reporting, and configuration.
• Experience leading cross-functional legal spend management programs in a global or matrixed environment.
• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, data analytics, law firm benchmarking, performance management, and billing guideline enforcement.
• Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in New York City.
